With track temperature sitting at 44 degrees Celsius, John Martin kept cool, qualifying second for the LMP2 class of the WEC 6 hours of Bahrain tomorrow. The heat of Bahrain has played a significant part in preparation for the Aussie driver, working with the team to precisely execute the qualifying plan, being rewarded for their hard work. “We waited until the right time for qualifying, Dave and the team called it perfectly,” said Martin. “We waited until right at the end, anticipating it was going to be the coolest time and it was probably a good thing as there was a red flag halfway through the session. “The car was quite good and we did a lot of stuff to try and get the car set up for the race, I think we’re looking good for tomorrow.” Only four tenths of a second between pole and the ADR Delta team, Martin is confident that the race tomorrow will not disappoint fans. “We didn’t have an all-out qualifying car, as I think some other people did so hopefully that will be reflected tomorrow in the race. “If today’s pace is anything to go by, then I think we’re looking really really good for tomorrow,” Martin finished.
